Welcome to Robotics facility. Our robotics facility offers an automation for High Throughput Screening (HTS) protocols as well as iterative process for applied research.
High Throughput Screening (HTS) has been used in drug discovery for primary screening of active compounds. Recently, this technology gained its popularity in the applied research and academia for iterative processes as well as screening. The number of screening might range of 10,000-100,000 /day.
To run an assay in a HTS format, some requirements are needed:
High signal to background ratio
Sufficient throughput and low cost
An HTS work involved a step by step development from an early design of experiment, optimization to the transfer for automation.

The Robotics Facility offers the infrastructure and expertise to support research groups of the University of Freiburg and the University Medical Center Freiburg.
The Robotics facility operates two setups of Liquid Handling System from Tecan Freedom Evo 200. Please refer to Instrumentations for more detail of our setups.
We collaborate with research groups providing project support in handling extensive numbers or iterative process of handling liquid and suspension to accommodate scientific works. We also offer collaborations for individual method and assay development.
